You can now change anything in your videos with just a simple prompt.

RunwayML just released Aleph early access, and it's a game-changer for filmmakers and creators.

Want to relight scenes, add VFX, or edit objects in your footage using AI?

Full step-by-step tutorial on how it works👇🏻
Step 1: Accessing Aleph
You can use Aleph in two modes:
- Chat Mode (recommended) acts like your creative co-pilot
- Tool Mode provides more manual control

Start a new session on Runway, select Gen-4, and upload your video.

🚨 Notes:
- Max duration: 5s
- Max size: 64MB
- Crops unsupported resolutions automatically
- Works best in 16:9, 1:1, 9:16, etc.
Step 2: Upload Your Video
- Upload a short video (under 5s). Aleph will only use the first 5 seconds anyway, so trim beforehand if needed.
- Write Your Prompt
Prompting is simple but powerful. Use:
- An action verb (add, change, replace, relight, etc.)
- A description of the desired change

Examples:
→ “Change the scene to nighttime with soft moonlight illuminating the woman.”
→ “Add a rainbow behind the couple, glowing subtly in the night sky”
→ “Add a soft rain effect while keeping the couple dry and in focus”
→ “Replace the background with a green screen for post-editing”
Step 4: (Optional) Add an Image
In Chat Mode, you can also upload a reference image to influence color, style, lighting, or textures.

Prompt example:
→ “Restyle the video using the art style from the image.” https://t.co/hJMKSJshTb
Step 5: Generate and Iterate
Once your prompt is ready:
→ Hit Generate in Tool Mode
→ Or send it via Chat Mode

Review the result. Want to tweak it?
Ask Chat Mode to:
- “Make it brighter”
- “Change to top-down view”
- “Upscale to 4K” https://t.co/RqQTZtoAK2
Real-World Uses

Aleph unlocks insane creative workflows like:
- Changing camera angles mid-scene
- Adding VFX to real footage
- Relighting and re-styling shots
- Editing specific objects or people in-video

This is next-level storytelling. https://t.co/mIllRXPQ26
đź’ˇ Tips

- Use clear and direct prompts
- For complex edits, break tasks into smaller prompts
- If lip sync or motion isn’t perfect, use tools like Act-Two to fix

And that’s it!
Aleph is an incredible leap forward; the possibilities are literally endless.

Can’t wait to see what you create with it.
