To be clear, I think OpenAI will prove to be one of the most positively impactful organisations of this generation and, although it’s against the spirit in which they were founded, it’s fine for them to not release information. I just wish they’d just be more honest that they’re doing to maintain a competitive edge and they no longer believe in being open (mostly) for that reason currently Which is fair enough if they want to be a profit seeking enterprise - Ilya Sutskever pretty much said this in a recent interview. There’s probably a time and a place for hand wavey safety excuses but not disclosing this kind of information is almost certainly not it
